Do you need a driving license to go on a scooter?

Hi Jenny! Based on what we found, it does look like you need a license to legally drive a scooter in Bali. Some sources say you should get an international driver’s license before leaving your home country, while others say you only need to apply for a local license once you’re in your destination (there is a fee involved, and you’ll need to show a license and your visa/passport, usually at a local police station). Of course, some scooter places will rent to you without checking that you have the proper paperwork, but the best approach is to get the proper paperwork/license before driving any vehicle abroad, and to abide by local laws. We hope this helps!

Right after returning from Indonesia I started missing it very much… Have you checked out the very good vegan eatery right next to the post office (to the left, if you face the postal counter) in downtown Ubud?.. Great street vista complemented with garlands of live curling flowers on the house opposite side of the road and remarkably excellent gourmet Balinese vegan cuisine!!!
